      • NRC-42-07-482 - Technical Assistance in Support of Design Certification, Early Site Permit, Combined License, Environmental, and Pre-Application Activities Related to the General Electric-Hitachi (GEH) Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR). This is a five-year contact for which ERI will serve as a prime contractor. The ERI team members include:

--- Dade Moeller & Associates, Inc.
          --- HDR Engineering
          --- Wardrop Engineering (of Canada)
          --- Ecology & Environment, Inc.
          --- JUPITER Corporation
          --- Vista Engineering Technologies, LLC
          --- Kazarians & Associates

In addition, the ERI team also includes a number of consultants.

      • NRC-42-07-483 - Technical Assistance in Support of Design Certification, Early Site Permit, Combined License, Environmental, and Pre-Application Activities Related to the General Electric-Hitachi (GEH) Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR). This is a five-year contact for which ERI will serve as a prime contractor. The ERI team members are identical to those of the ESBWR Design Center.

      • NRO-07-468 - Technical Assistance for Probabilistic Risk Assessment and Severe Accident Review of Design Certification and Combined License Applications. This is a three-year contact for all new reactors (e.g., ESBWR, EPR, etc.), and ERI will serve as the prime contractor.

    2. Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES)

      • NRC- RES-07-057 - MELCOR EPR Input Deck Development and Analyses of Severe Accidents and Containment Response. This is a two-year contact for which ERI is the prime contractor.

      • NRC- RES-07-088 - TRACE Applicability for EPR. This contact is for a period of 12 months, and ERI is the prime contractor.

  • During September 2006, ERI was awarded a contract by the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) related to “Analytical Support for Thermal Hydraulics and Severe Accidents.” As part of this contract ERI will

    1. Perform severe accident calculations for the ESBWR 4500 design in the area of in-vessel and ex-vessel phenomena.

    2. Provide analytical support to NRC in pre-application review of several thermal-hydraulic and severe accident topical reports as submitted by FANP for U.S. EPR.

    3. Provide technical support to NRC in its interaction with EPRI/MUG during the development of the MAAP Application Users’ Guide and in detailed review of the MAAP Application Users’ Guide.

  • During September 2006, ERI was awarded a two-year contract by the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to Support the USNRC/Atomic Energy Regulatory Board of India bilateral activities in the development and performance of several Standard Problem Exercises in the area of severe accidents and thermal-hydraulic analyses.

  • During September 2005, ERI was awarded a contract by the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) related to “Experimental Assessment of the TRACE computer code.” As part of this contract ERI will assess the TRACE thermal-hydraulics models against several experiments performed at the PANDA test facility in Switzerland. This work will directly support the NRC design certification review activities for the General Electric ESBWR.
