ERPRA-ST

ERPRA-ST (©1992-2001 Energy Research, Inc.) is an external module that could be directly used by RISKBIN, or used as a stand-alone program. The program uses a fast rate dependent algorithm for calculating radiological releases following severe accidents based on simple parametrics. The ERPRA-ST parameters are derived from ADAM (©1997-2001 Energy Research, Inc.) or other severe accident codes, such as MELCOR and MAAP. It is extremely useful for propagation of source term uncertainties through an integrated nuclear power plant risk model. The generic source term parameter libraries, based on mechanistic source term codes for typical U.S. designed PWRs and BWRs, are also included.

ERPRA-ST has provisions that allow for direct link to accident consequence analysis computer codes (e.g., MACCS, SMART, etc.). Alternatively, the activity associated with radiological releases can also be calculated to account for the effects of radioactive decay and transmutation.

In addition, to providing the software executable, ERI could also provide on- or off-site training for ERPRA-ST use and application, if required. ERPRA-ST is fully documented and can also be implemented without any formal training.
