ERPRA-ROCKET | ![]() |
The ERPRA-ROCKET is a mechanistic computer code designed to assess the liftoff potential of a reactor pressure vessel following a high-pressure vessel breach in a Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) power plant that is constructed with a restricted lower cavity region.
The model calculates the lift, the cavity pressurization, and the back pressure driving the vessel, as a function various parameters including the vessel breach size. The code integrates the U. S. NRC developed MELCOR computer code for calculation of cavity compartment pressurization. It is designed to allow for a complete Monte Carlo-based uncertaunty analysis.
